The Starrsed Interliner is a fully automated ESR Analyser, based on the popular Starrsed Compact. This clip, which will take a few moments to load, shows the tracking system which takes racks of 10 sample tubes at a time from a pool which can hold up to 20 racks. They then pass through a bar code reader and then to a series of mixing arms where each tube is inverted 7 times to ensure thorough mixing of the blood sample. When fully mixed each tube is presented to the Compact where 1ml is sucked up and diluted accurately with isotonic Sodium Citrate. The clip doesn't show this but one hour later the ESR (Sedimentation) is automatically read to an accuracy of 1mm.
